Born and raised on the west side of Detroit, MIchigan, Donnell Covés' commitment to the revitalization of a city that has his heart, is shown through his work at Maven Mortgage. In 1995, Covés’ love for Detroit’s architecture and real estate led him to owning his first investment property. 

In 2019, Donnell Covés founded Maven Mortgage, which is uniquely positioned to become a leading national mortgage company.  Maven Mortgage was created to remove the barriers to homeownership for low-income and minority homebuyers. With over 20 years in the mortgage industry, Covés has seen far too many good people denied homeownership due to a low credit score or lack of funds for a down payment.  Maven’s lending criteria, streamlined underwriting process, and major focus on affordability allows the company to serve communities, which historically have been disenfranchised and underserved. Under Donnell Covés’ leadership, Maven Mortgage provides more people opportunities to create generational wealth through homeownership.
